3D TV everywhere at CES 2010

January 07, 2010 6:01 AM in 3D TV  | 0 comments  | 0 TrackBack

Everywhere you go on the floor at CES 2010, you see vendors of all kinds promoting 3D TV.  It's one of the highest trends topics on News.Google.com, where you can track industry specific news subjects.

There's varied opinion on both sides- one saying that it's the next newest biggest thing.  And on the side, some are questioning if consumers are going to wear the needed 3D glasses required to make the true viewing experience.

Regardless, 3D HD is a bigger bandwidth hog.  And that's going to require wired home networks to handle and management in increased overhead and traffic on w wired home network throughout the house.

Having recently seen Avatar, I can certainly see the benefits of 3D TV in the home.  My take from the show is that while broadcasters like ESPN who have announced plans to broadcast sporting events in 3D, the real benefit of seeing and experiencing 3D TV will be on Blu-ray players, and of course gaming devices like the Playstation series.
