Chunghwa Telecom Labs (CHT-TL), the research institute of Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan’s leading telecom service provider, has become a member of the HomeGrid Forum and is showing its support for the growing momentum for G.hn.
CHT-TL joins many other service providers and vendors that have chosen to add G.hn to the portfolio of new technologies they support. As a Promoter Member, CHT-TL is able to contribute to the future development of the Forum by participating in member-only events and serving on workgroups, by reviewing and commenting on draft specifications, pre-release documents and other materials. The organization’s representative is also eligible for election to the HomeGrid Forum Board of Directors.
“G.hn is a highly attractive and helpful solution to reduce home wiring deployment obstacles while we promote diverse digital home services to our customers,” said Yuan-Kuang Tu, President of CHT-TL. “Joining the HomeGrid Forum will allow us to participate and help promote this high-speed technology in Taiwan.”
“We are delighted that CHT-TL has decided to join the HomeGrid Forum,” said Matt Theall, President of HomeGrid Forum. “This is ideal timing with such tangible progress being made in interoperability and certification. Service providers and equipment vendors now have access to an unprecedented number of G.hn silicon sources from HomeGrid Forum members. Certified products will follow very rapidly this year.”
