Finley Engineering's Michael Boehne has a very unique perspective on the future of the wired home network, connectivity to the smart grid, and the economics of making this a reality, especially when you are dealing with rural communities and small towns.
Working with mostly smaller telphone and energy companies, they provide engineering service as they have feet in both in both camps when it comes to telecom and energy services.
Much of the work they do is the deployment of triple play fiber to the home networks.
His company helps to figure out the best technology and best design to use. The work they do is in rural American and smaller communities and are involved in many of stimulus projects with the AARA - America Reinvestment & Recovery Act which are helping communities deploy their networks.

Holland Electronics manufactures products for the CATV, SMATV, Satellite, Wireless and Fiber Optic markets specializing in connectivity, broadband distribution, head-end and installation accessories.

Ron Zimmer is the President of CABA - Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA) a non-profit industry association dedicated to the advancement of intelligent home and intelligent building technologies in North America.
CABA's mandate includes providing its members with networking and market research opportunities. CABA also encourages the development of industry standards and protocols, including G.hn.
During the Digital Home Summit, Ron shared his organization's connected home roadmap initiative and and how the smart grid will come into play into the home area networks of the future.

During the Digital Home Summit in Las Vegas, Verizon's Director of Consumer Product Management, Ann Shaub, gave a presentation on Verizon's next phase of connecting the home with new services.
Shaub talks about the Connected Home and how to use the broadband connection coming into the home as a way to bring in new, next generation IP services. Using wireless technologies such as Z-Wave and WiFi they are also addressing wired technologies, including G.hn.

During the Fiber To The Home Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, Sigma Designs' VP of Corporate Marketing, Michael Weissman, demonstrated the company's recently announced ClearPath technology.
