Amazon just sent this to me.
It's a sign of things not to come, but are here. More and more TV's are being shipped with direct Internet connectivity like these which you can link to here. At the root of this: the wired home network.
Yeah!
With G.hn now over the horizon this is yet another piece in the missing puzzle needed for the next generation of the wired home network.

I'm seeing a trend where the TV manufacturers like Sony, Vizeo, Samsung and LG Sharp giving users direct access to the Internet on their televisions.
Last year, Yahoo made a big push with its Yahoo Connected TV initiative.
This year, you see Yahoo's presence, but you see something more: Sony, for example, is offering its own online store where you can rent or buy content right off the web, right from your TV.
Sharp even has an offering that lets you connect directly with a customer support rep, via your TV, if you, or the installer have any problems with the installation.
In Sony's case, they are offering 27 Internet based stations in the form of what they call an entertainment browser. When you are watching a Blu-ray disk, you can stop the movie, click on selected content and then it takes you out to the web and do related searching - expanding the information you want to find about the movie you are watching.

Everywire is a blog that will talk about G.hn and related wired networking news.
